Tim Flores
My name is Tim Flores I am a German-American pianist, collaborator, educator, and music director currently based in the greater Boston area.
My passion towards contemporary music has led me to premiere countless works by young composers as well as uncover music by lesser known composers from around the world and even take on challenging works as soloist with orchestra. I’ve premiered works for solo piano, chamber music, piano and voice and I’ve even performed as soloist for the in-person premiere of Hsiu-Ping (Patrick) Wu’s Work “Ignite” for Piano Soloist and orchestra.
I’ve had the pleasure of working with eminent pianists such as Bruce Brubaker, Lisa Moore, Donald Berman, Richard Goode, Till Fellner and more in lessons and masterclasses as well as perform works under the guidance of composers such as Sebastian Currier, Angelica Negron, Scott Wheeler, and Eve Beglarian.
I am a dedicated educator for young musicians. I have the great fortune to hold piano faculty positions at Groton Hill Music Center and Southern New Hampshire University as well as teach in my own private studio in Acton, MA. I am also a Board Member of the Massachusetts Music Teacher Association where I am the Chair of the Judged Festival! In the past I’ve held faculty and staff collaborative positions at Hartt School of Music and Longy School of Music of Bard College. My students are active musicians in their community and learn to integrate music with their own passions and become life long lovers of music.
As a music director, I have worked as both conductor, pianist, and vocal coach on numerous musical and opera productions! My musical decisions and leadership have been called “dynamic”, “high-octane” and “expert” by Broadway World. As a collaborative pianist I can be heard on Aaron Campbell’s debut Album “For Those That Wander” and throughout the Boston area where I have been present as a soloist, chamber musician, accompanist, and conductor with various ensembles and organizations such as MassOpera, Longy School of Music of Bard College, Boston Symphony Youth Orchestras, Groton Hill Music Center, Promenade Opera Project, and Ensemble Lyrae.
I currently live in Acton, MA with my wife and son. When I am not teaching or at a piano you can most likely find me cooking up extravagant meals or baking up some delicious breads and pastries! My family enjoys spending time outdoors and taking advantage of the vast amount of culture and history present in New England.
